Traffic North is at 1600 West Hillsboro Boulevard in Deerfield Beach. Traffic South is at 3550 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood. Traffic West is at 100 North Pine Island Road in Plantation. Under Florida Statute 318.14, the 30-day deadline to act on a Davie traffic ticket is strict. Miss it and you face a $16 late fee plus possible license suspension from the FLHSMV.

How to Pay a Davie Traffic Ticket

Paying a Davie traffic ticket is the fastest way to resolve your case. Keep in mind it counts as a guilty plea. Points will be added to your license for moving violations. Fine amounts come from Florida Statute 318.18. Standard moving violations start at $60 before court costs and surcharges. Speeding fines range from $25 for 6 to 9 mph over the limit to $250 for 30 mph or more over. Fines double in school zones and active construction zones.

You can pay online at browardclerk.org or through PayFLClerk.com. Pick Broward County from the list to get to the right payment page. Phone payments work through (954) 831-6565. Mail your check or money order to P.O. Box 14610, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33302-4610. Make it out to "Clerk of the Court." Cash payments are accepted at any Florida AMSCOT location with no extra fee from the clerk. In-person payments can be made at any of the four Broward traffic court branches.

Davie Traffic Ticket Options

Three paths are open to you after a traffic ticket in Davie. Each one affects your record differently.

Paying the fine closes the case. It is fast but it means accepting the violation. Points land on your driving record for moving violations. Non-moving tickets do not carry points but you still owe the fine amount. Check the back of your citation for the exact amount due.

Electing traffic school is the middle ground. You pay the fine with an 18% discount and complete a Basic Driver Improvement course within 90 days. No points go on your license. The clerk withholds adjudication, so no conviction shows on your record. This option is limited to five times in a lifetime and once per 12 months. CDL holders and drivers caught going 30 mph or more over the speed limit cannot use traffic school. Contact the Broward Clerk within 30 days to elect this option for your Davie traffic ticket.

Contesting the ticket means asking for a court hearing. Submit your request to the Broward Clerk within 30 days. You can also file a conditional plea of no contest by email to TrafficeClerk@browardclerk.org. This does not require a court appearance and keeps points off your record for eligible violations. If you miss the 30-day window but are still within 180 days, pay the $16 late fee to get a hearing scheduled. After 180 days, you must file a motion explaining the delay.

Traffic School for Davie Residents

Davie drivers who want to keep their record clean can elect traffic school. The state maintains a list of approved Basic Driver Improvement course providers. Find it at the FLHSMV approved schools page. Most courses can be done online from home. Prices vary but the content is standardized by the state.

Once you finish, the school should send your certificate to the Broward Clerk. Do not assume it will arrive on its own. Check with the clerk at (954) 831-6565 to make sure they got it. If the certificate does not show up, your case gets treated as if you never took the course. That means full points, no discount, and possible license issues down the road.

License Suspension and Davie Traffic Citations

Failing to respond to a Davie traffic ticket within the required time can result in a license suspension. The FLHSMV will send a suspension notice. Your license stays suspended until you clear the ticket with the Broward Clerk and pay the $60 reinstatement fee to the state. That suspension stays on your driving record for seven years.

Points from Davie traffic tickets also accumulate with points from tickets in other cities and counties. Under Florida Statute 318.15, twelve points in 12 months means a 30-day suspension. Eighteen points in 18 months leads to a 3-month suspension. Twenty-four points within 36 months results in a one-year suspension. Check your current point total through the MyDMV Portal or by ordering your driving record from FLHSMV.

Looking Up Davie Traffic Records Online

The Broward Clerk's website lets you look up Davie traffic ticket records online. Go to browardclerk.org and use the traffic search tools. You can find your case by citation number or name. The system shows your fine amount, due date, and case status.

New tickets may take 5 to 10 business days to appear in the system after they are issued. If you just got a Davie traffic citation and the online system shows no results, give it a few more days. The Davie Police Department, located at 1230 S. Nob Hill Road, Davie, FL 33324, writes most local tickets. Their website is at davie-fl.gov. But for any questions about payment, court dates, or your traffic record, go to the Broward Clerk, not the police department.
